This wonderful city was the capital of Brazil for almost 200 years!  What a great view of the "O Cristo Redentor" statue (Christ the Redeemer)! The statue took nine years to build and just earlier this year, lighting hit it! Saved by something out of this world, the statue is still standing, with arms wide open, without a scar!
